Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyors

Metzgar’s series 470 and 480 Chain Driven Live Roller (CDLR) conveyors are designed with two sprockets welded to one end of each roller. Individual loops of chain connect one roller to the next, transmitting power to the total unit. Our CDLRs can handle up to 1,900 pounds per foot, however, if your load is heavier we can recommend an alternative solution.

Benefits

Two Motor Mounting Options

Bottom mount for clear space directly below the rollers for drainage, visibility, cleaning, etc. Top Mount for low profile conveyor that can be placed directly on the floor.

Favorable Temperature Tolerances

Changes in temperature have very little, to no effect on conveyor operation. This allows the conveyor to operate in environments that would damage other types of conveyor.

Contamination Resistance

Contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, ice, chemicals, and debris are shielded from the drive chains via the scalloped guard. This allows CDLR conveyor to be placed in almost any application. This guarding also ensures that the drive sprockets and chains are free from impact damage. In most cases, the conveyor will continue to operate even if the rollers have been damaged.

Positive Drive

All rollers drive to force heavier loads into a definite orientation or location. All rollers continue to drive as long as power is supplied to the motor. Chain Driven Rollers can easily withstand the abuse and difficulty of uneven pallet bottoms.

Heavy Loads

Loads up 1900 pounds per linear foot can be conveyed on standard CDLR equipment. Contact Metzgar Conveyors if heavier load ratings are needed.
